BIOTEAM policy brief on `District heating systems: Breaking the monopoly?`
The BIOTEAM project has published its second policy brief on Dutch district heating systems.
Unbundling of district heating companies in The Netherlands is often believed to be the ultimate solution to market inefficiencies both at the supplier and end-user level. On the other hand, before `copy-pasting` strategies applied in the electricity and gas sector, one might consider the effectiveness of an economic separation of network and production activities of district heating companies. This policy brief discusses the potential impacts of the economic separation of network and production activities on the entire market chain.
The policy brief is available on the BIOTEAM website: District heating systems: Breaking the monopoly?
