BIOTEAM policy brief on `Options for a new market model to promote low-carbon district heating in the Netherlands`

The BIOTEAM project has published its first policy brief on Dutch district heating systems.

The development of a transparent and consistent policy framework for the district heating market would ensure a level playing field for heat producers and suppliers and in the same time facilitate the fair heat pricing methodology for district heating end-users. This however requires a better understanding of the market dynamics and potential policy options. This policy brief attempts to describe the current market settings and policy options available to improve the economic performance of DH systems for all actors in the value chain.
