Catrinus JepmaCatrinus Jepma

Prof. Dr. Catrinus J. Jepma LL.M is founder and chairman of JIN Climate and Sustainability and editor-in-chief of JIQ Magazine. In addition, he is Professor of Energy and Sustainability at the University of Groningen. As coordinating lead author of the Working Group III of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) from 1993 to 2007, he shared the Nobel Peace Price awarded to IPCC in 2007. Read more.

Wytze van der GaastWytze van der Gaast

Dr. Wytze van der Gaast is senior researcher at JIN and editor of JIQ Magazine. He has worked for JIN since its foundation in 1995 and is expert on emissions trading, technology transfer, and sustainable development. In January 2015, he succesfully defended his PhD dissertation on the history of the international climate negotiations. Read more.

 Eise SpijkerEise Spijker

Eise Spijker MSc. joined JIN in 2005, and is an expert on biomass-to-energy and waste-to-energy. He is specialised in greenhouse gas emission life cycle assessments related to renewable energy, as well as project-based CO2-crediting schemes. He coordinates EU research projects on biomass-based energy. Read more.

Vlasis OikonomouVlasis Oikonomou

Dr. Vlasis Oikonomou works at JIN since 2009. He has acquired his PhD at the University of Groningen, focusing on the interactions of White Certificates with other market policy instruments in the EU. As an expert on energy efficiency and climate policy, he coordinates multiple EU research projects on these topics. Read more.

 Erwin HofmanErwin Hofman

Erwin Hofman MSc. MT. works at JIN since 2013, on projects related to climate policy, green economy, renewable energy, and sustainble development. Specific topics of interest include public acceptance of renewable energy projects, and technology needs assessments in developing countries. Previously, he has worked as a trainee at projects for the Indonesian Ministry of Public Works. Read more.

Krisztina SzendreiKrisztina de Bruyn

Dr. Krisztina de Bruyn-Szendrei joined JIN in 2013. She acquired her PhD at the University of Groningen as a member of the Marie Curie Research Training Network, focusing on developing efficient solar cells as a renewable energy source. At JIN, she is involved in projects related to the biobased economy, and transition pathways. Read more.
